Estimating tile levelling bases starts with the layout, not a universal number per square metre. Bases per square metre and the coverage of one 2,000-base pail remain UNKNOWN. A numeric rate may be used only if supported by current-product manufacturer documentation or a controlled, recorded test of the current SKU; third-party calculators and general industry practice cannot be attributed to this product.
TILVARQ Tile Levelling Bases are available in 1.0 mm and 1.5 mm variants. Each 20 L pail contains 2,000 bases. The pail contains bases only; wedges and pliers are not included.
1. Confirm the specified joint size
Check the project specification before choosing a base. Select the 1.0 mm or 1.5 mm variant to match the specified joint size. A joint-size label does not confirm that every component in a levelling system is compatible.
For a closer look at the two available variants, read compare 1.0 mm and 1.5 mm tile levelling bases.
2. Count the actual tile layout
Break the job into separate installation areas. Count the tiles in each main field, then account for perimeter cuts, narrow sections and changes in layout. This produces a more useful starting point than applying one whole-site average.
3. Follow the levelling-system instructions
Use the placement instructions for the levelling system selected for the job. The required number of bases can change with tile dimensions, edge placement and installation method. TILVARQ does not publish a universal bases-per-square-metre figure because no single figure has been verified for every layout and system.
4. Add an allowance based on the job
Consider breakage, unusable pieces and expected layout changes when setting a site allowance. The allowance should reflect the actual job conditions rather than a generic percentage presented as suitable for every project.
5. Check all required components
Before checkout, check the specified joint size against the levelling-system manufacturer's specifications. TILVARQ Tile Levelling Bases do not include wedges or pliers. TILVARQ does not confirm compatibility with any third-party system.
